The MacBaby Jeans

True Religion Brand Jeans 'Baby Billy' Jeans (Infant)
J
eans. You've seen them before. Not a huge shock. Can I just say that they were a shock for me when I saw the price tag.

So there's this store with extremely fashionable clothing. It's call Nordstrom. It's pricey, but I hear their clothes stand the test of time...except if they go out of style because they are really fashionable, but not because of the quality. You get the idea. I never knew Nordstrom existed BP (before Portland). So there's this big sale going once a year..the yearly sale (or Anniversary.. how original) and they put out all the new stuff for Fall at big discounts. After the sale the same things go back up to full price.

Basically, for me, it just means they put clothes prices down to the very high end of my budget, but never-the-less you can get great deals. I've said it once and I believe it more after living here 9 months but jeans are apart of my daily wardrobe so I believe in liking them. This, my friend is a little much, and I'd love love love to meet the person that purchased these INFANT BOY TRUE RELIGION JEANS for $55.80 on sale... $88 not on sale.

My only question... how's the cut around the diaper???

I'm thinking Titus will stick with his consignment store jeans since I mean...well you know.. baby clothes fit for like a 2 hours, and designer baby jeans are for the birds.

What all the cool people do after midnight... update their blog..

Hallelujah, I think both my boys are asleep and the house is cooled down a bit. I certainly do not want to give the impression that I do not like the heat because I am drinking it in, however, let's just say my wish came without preparation.. meaning an air conditioner. Most older homes here don't have them... no biggie since I think there are only a few weeks with REALLY hot weather.

Today I frantically went out today to price window units after waking up to the glorious sun and heat. Some things are just painful to buy. A window unit AC is one of them. I'd put car services, and other household appliances in that same category. Thankfully, I found an ancient one on Craig's List that should do the trick and take the edge off for a deal. It hasn't flipped our breaker yet so maybe we're in business!!

In other news...Ryan has been very busy with work, school, church, and a side job blessing. He is busy, therefore I am busier at home holding down the fort. I will be thankful for a soon vacation/family reunion we have coming!! We are going with the Epp side to the coast. It will be my first family reunion with Ry's family! What a jump it will be going from my last family vacation with 5 people to now 22! I'm excited for it, and praying Titus will be an angel!

I am also going through a Beth Moore bible study called Believing God. Wow, is all I can say. Bethie knows how to get right to the point, which I love, but it's forced me to take my nice little wrapped up Christianity with a pretty bow on top and get to the heart of things. There is so much meat in this study I will probably have to go through it a second time to get it all. I am finding that this is not really a "feel good" bible study, but more like a "taking a run for the first time in over a year" (that would be where I am at except I have no intentions of running in the near future unless it's for a life) kind of bible study. However, I'm hoping at the end I feel more in shape and not gasping for oxygen!

I'm kind of wondering if Titus is starting to get some ahem.. "opinions." Surely it's too early for that, but I kid you not the child was dead tired and would scream bloody murder when I laid him down for bed. Granted, it was past his bedtime, but when I picked him up he would SMILE when I would look at him. WHAAATT? Ryan HAD to get sleep, so I put Titus in the swing until he fell asleep. After family vacay, baby boy is going in his crib. (He spent 2 nights in it and now resides back in his bassinet). Soon peeps..soon! Mother Hen just was not quite ready. That and the fact that since the top of the bassinet is going on vacation I didn't want to adjust him to a crib and then have him in his old bed for a week....I'm sure there was another way, but that's how I like to justify it.

Whew, ok now that I've written a book, I'm heading to bed! Oh yea by the way.. Has anyone seen summer?? Goodness it's flown by!!

4 months

Titus turned 4 months old this past Saturday... I can hardly believe it! He had his 4 month check-up and shots today and our Doctor said he looks like he is doing great and is a very happy baby! Our doctor was shocked by how much he has grown in the past 2 months. At Titus' 2 month check up he was in the 10-20th percentile for weight and around the 50th for height. Today, he was around the 50-75th percentile for weight and the 97th percentile for height. I am still wondering if our nurse measured him correctly for height simply because Ryan and I are not the tallest people here! Who knows..maybe he takes after his Uncle James (by marriage..ha)! At 4 months he...

-is quick to smile and laugh
-loves to baby talk
-grabs (and pulls) my hair, his toys and little links on his car seat
-can hold his head up when he is on his tummy
- follows me with his eyes
- loves for me to sing to him
-will roll over when he feels like it from his tummy to back
- loves loves loves tv (we will have to limit this as I can already tell he likes it). Infomercials seem to be a fav along with this channel call qubo. He thinks they are talking to him!
- is a snuggle bug and would be happy to be snuggled and talked to all day
-is starting to like his activity mat and exersaucer more
- def prefers breast milk over formula and doesn't take a bottle well from other people
-sleeps well
- has such a sweet little demeanor. he is truly a joy to get to spend my days with!

delight.

I love Titus. It doesn't change whether he wakes up in the middle of the night or sleeps 9 hours straight. It doesn't change when he is cranky or super content and happy. I just love him. It just is. If Titus grows up to be a bum, I will still love him. If he grows up to be a missionary, I will still love him. If he grows up and tells me what an awful Mother I was, I will question his sanity, but I will still love him. Nothing can change that...it's not like my love has to grow for him because it's there in it's full.

Having a child has given me greater understanding about how God sees his children. Having said all that... when Titus flashes me a big smile, puts his hand on my neck when I nurse him, holds onto my arm when I sit him next to me, or gives me a great big precious yawn I find great delight in him. I often wonder if this is kind of how God sees us when become more like Jesus...does he find joy and delight in us when we have ahh ha moments? When we take steps of faith trusting fully in his sufficiency, does he cheer from the heavens? Perhaps! I want that. I want God to find great joy in seeing me change, grow, and let go of earthly things! But, can God's love for me change based on if I please him or not? No way.. it just "is."

Below is a video of Titus. As mentioned above, I love love love hearing him yawn. Random, but I just think it is the sweetest sound. Ryan and I break out laughing when we hear it. I've been trying to catch it on camera, but was unsuccessful until yesterday! Enjoy!

The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.

Summertime and the living is easy....

Woo hoo. I think the summer is finally here, although, it's a bit moody and sometimes changes it's mind! We have fully embraced the change in season with cook-outs (some people refer to them as BBQ, but that clearly gets me too excited about pulled pork bbq so I stick with cook-out), berry picking, jam making, concert going, and sun enjoying. The last thing.. the sun.. does me wonders. I know I've said it a million times but my favorite thing in the world is to wake up and look from my bedroom to my living room and see the sun coming though the front door. It's heavenly and yea, I've come to new heights in my appreciation for God's amazing design of it!

I love the summer because of the general relaxed feel it brings. I also love the cheap fun available and the extra time we sometimes have with friends. I just started a girl's bible study with some seminary friends/small group gals on Monday nights. We are doing Beth Moore's Believing God. I think it's going to be really good..I check 5 times a day for the workbook I ordered to arrive! Between all these things my days are rich with simple blessings. It's the simplicity of life that truly satisfies me at the end of the day...a place to "feel" at home in and family and friends to love and have fun with...all this and Jesus too (not to say he comes last in satisfying me or anything). Well, its a bit late and not knowing when my little "alarm clock" may go off, I'd say I better get to bed... sometimes that snooze button, aka paci, doesn't always do the trick!
